Coach: Hope Elliott


Give us a little background on who you are and where you're from?

I’m Hope I’m a coach/trainer from Geelong VIC.

I’ve been personal training out of ANYTIME FITNESS Drysdale for the last 12 months. Also group training Mums and Bubs

How long have you been a coach for and what got you into the health & fitness industry?

1.5 years as a coach in the gym industry and group training.

What did you do before you were a Coach?

Before I was a Coach I worked in Childcare. Working with children under the age of 5 years.

If you could only do one exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Burpees.

Why?? Not only their an full body burner but Because I feel their not only a physical challenge but also a mental challenge.

Just an exercise I feel the mind gives in before the body.

What was the latest thing you've learnt in your area of expertise? Or currently learning?

I love to practise what I preach.At the moment I’m training Muay Thai.

When you're not at the gym/with clients/working - what do you like to do to relax and unwind?

Time away from clients and the gym still seem to involve some form of exercise or outdoor activity. I have 2 young active little boys who love motocross bike riding and football.

But when there is some down time, reading would definitely be high on the list.

Who is someone you really admire in the health and fitness industry and why?

Tia toomey would be one after reading her book and gaining a background knowledge of her history.

Her determination and persistence to believe in herself and not give up despite set backs and inquires.  

What's your favourite quote? fitness related or not.

Stronger than Yesterday.

Favourite book/YouTube/Netflix/article you like to recommend to people? Related to health and fitness.

Tia toomey is the only fitness related book I’ve read. I can’t compare it to anything else but what I took from it and learnt I would Definitely recommend to pick up and read.

Who is your typical client and how do you benefit their life?

My typical client in the gym environment is middle aged men and women that are working along side physio’s.

Outside gym is Mums and Bubs groups along side group boxing classes. A range of agers.

What do you see most people struggle with when it comes to their health and fitness?

Consistency.

Whats the best piece of advice to help with this?

Think of health and fitness as a lifestyle not a fad.
