Coach: Travis Boyle - Gold Coast

Travis Boyle is a personal trainer on the sunny Gold Coast, running his business out of Goodlife Health Club in Bundall! Travis always puts in his very best effort with everything he does! 

Get to know the man, the personal trainer, and the legend! 

Give us a little background on who you are and where you're from?
I am from the Gold Coast, I work as a personal trainer in Goodlife Bundall. I also take group class’s for Fitstop Bundall and Arena class’s that’s includes boxing and kickboxing. I take part in a lot of endurance events like obstacles courses and running events.

How long have you been a coach for and what got you into the health & fitness industry?
I have been a coach for 18months now, I have always had a massive passion for the health and fitness and to become a coach knowing I am able to help people’s life’s in this area is just a special and rewarding thing you are able to do.

What did you do before you were a Coach?
Before I was a coach I worked FIFO on long rosters and big hours like 12-14h days 7 days a week. But fitness was still number one to me so I would get up at 3am every day to still train before another long day at work.

If you could only do one exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Cardio exercise would be to run because that to me is my happy place.
Weights exercise would be Deadlifts because of the power and force you need to perform a deadlift. Plus it's a big compound exercise working a lot more muscles than others.

What was the latest thing you've learnt in your area of expertise? Or currently learning?
Latest thing I learnt was doing my Pre and post natal Cert, Not just so I was able to keep training my client but to also learn more about how the female body works.

When you're not at the gym/with clients/working - what do you like to do to relax and unwind?
Walk on the beach or a Trail run/hike. Nice to get away from busy areas and explore our amazing trails and listen to the wild life.

What's your favourite quote? fitness related or not.
Giving up is not a option.

Who is your typical client and how do you benefit their life?
My typical client is someone that not only has the commitment to achieve there goals but also wants to build that mental strength and put in every session to make sure we achieve this.
I help them set out each week with exercise, nutrition, sleep and water intake to make sure we are on the right track through out there fitness journey.

What do you see most people struggle with when it comes to their health and fitness?
I see nutrition and consistent training have to be the 2 biggest things.

Whats the best piece of advice to help with this?
Having my clients track there food each day and week so we know If they are having the right intake towards there goals.
Planning there week of exercise with structure and having me check in to keep them accountable each week.
